Overview
Widely Used to Measure The Pressure of Fans and Blowers Differential Pressure Gauge
StandardMagnehelic
gages are rated for a maximumpressure of 15 psig and should not be used  where that limit could be exceeded. Newer models employ a rubber plug on the rear which functions as a relief valve by   unseat-ing and venting the gage interior when over pressure reaches approximarely 25 psig. To provide a free path for pressure relief, there are four spacer pads which maintain.023"clearance when gage is surface mounted.Do not obstruct  the gap crcated by these pads.

1.Select alocalion free from exceessive vibrauion and where the ambient temperature willnotexceed 140°F(60ºC).Also.avoid direct sunlight which accelerates discoloration of the clear plastic cover.Sensinglines my be run any necessary distance.  Long tubing lengths will not affeet accuracy but will nercase response time slighuly. Do not restrict lines.If pulsating   pressures or vibration cause excessive pointer oscillation. consult the factory for ways to provide additional damping.

2. All standard Magnehelie gages are calibrated with the diaphragm vertical and should be used in that position for higher range gages will perform wihin tolerance in other positions with only rezeroing. Low range Model 2000-00 and
metric equivalents must be used in the vertical position only.

5. To zero the gage after installation
Set the indicating pointer exactly on the zero mark,using the extemal zero adjust screw on the cover at the bottom.Note that.the zero check or adjustment can omy be made with the high and low pressure taps both open to atmosphere.

Operation
Positive Pressure:Connect tubing from source of pressure to cither of the two high pressure ports. Plug the port not used. Vent one or both low pressure ports to atmos-phere.
Negative Pressure: Connect tubing from source of vacuum orncgative pressure to ci-ther ofthe twolow pressure ports. Plug the porlnot used. Vent one or both high pres-sure ports to atmosphere.
Differential Pressure: Connecet tubing from the greater of two pressure sources to either high pressure port and the
lower to either low pressure por.Plug both unused poris.
When one side of the gage is vented in dirty.dusty atmosphere. we suggest an A-331 Fiter VentPlug be installed in the open portto keep inside of gage clean.
A. For portahle use of temporary installa-tion use I/8"pipe thread to rubber tubing adapter and connect to source of pressure with rubber or Tygon tubing.
B.For permanent installation, J/4" O.D., orlarger, copper or ailuminum tubing is rec-ommended. See accessory buhletin S-i01 for fittings.
Maintenance:No lubrication or periodic servicing is required. Keep case exterior and cover clean.Occasionally disconnect pres-sure lines to vent both sides of gage to at-musphere and re-zero. Optiunal vent valves,(bulletin S- 101), should be used in perma-nent installations.
Calibration Check: Sclect a secund gage or manometer of known accurney and in an ap-propriale range. Using short lengths of rub ber or vinyltubing, connect the high pres-sure side of the MAGNEHFLIC gage and the test gage to two legs  of a tee. Very slowly apply pressure through the third leg. Allow a few seconds for pressure to cqualize. fluid to drain, ctc..  and compare readings. ifaccurcy unacceplable.gage may be retumed to factory for recalibration.To cal-ibrate in the field. use  the foliowing procedure.
Calibration :1.With gage case.held firmly,loosen bezel,by tuming counterclockwise. To avoid dam-age: a canvas strap wrench or similar tool should be used.
2.Lift out plastic cover and "O" ring.
3. Remove scale screws and scale assembly.Be carelul not to damage pointer.
4.The calibration is changed hy moving the clamp. Luosen the clamp screw(s) and move slightly toward the helix if gage is rcading high, and away if reading low. Tighten clamp screw and install scale assembly.

5.Place cover and O-ring in position. Makesure the hex shaft on inside of cover is prop-erly engaged in zero adjusi screw.
6.Secure cuver in place by screwing bezel down snug.Nole that the area under the cover is pressurized in operation and there-rore gage will leak if not properly tightened.
7.Zero gage and compare to test insirument.Make further adjustments as necessary.
Caution: If bezel binds when installing, lu-bricate threads sparingly with light oil or molybdenum disulphide compound.
Warning: Attempted field repair may vuid your warrenty. Recalibration or repair by the user is not recummended. For best results, return gage to the factory.
Trouble Shooting Tips:
· Gage won't indicate or is sluggish
· Pointer stuck-gage can't be zeroed.
We generally recommend that gages need-ing repair be returned to the factory.Parts used in various sub-assemblies   vary from one range orgage to another,and use ofin-correct components may cause improper operaiion. After receipt and inspection. wewill be happy to quote repair costs before proceeding.
Consult factoryfor assistance on unusual applicatiuns or condirions.
